For iPhone and Mac

A little help with your plans.

Email help@magi-cal.com for help with the native MagiCal apps. Include your device, operating system, app version, and what happened. Remove private names and schedule details from examples. Never send passwords, verification codes, or payment-card information.

Scan a note or a whole calendar

On iPhone, choose Scan a note or calendar. Keep the page flat, well lit, and fully visible, including the month and year. You can also upload images or PDFs, up to 12 pages and 35 MB per file. Handwriting and unusual layouts may need corrections.

Scan from your iPhone to your Mac

In the Mac app, choose Scan with iPhone. Connect both devices to the same trusted Wi-Fi, scan the QR code with the iPhone Camera, and tap the link. In Safari, tap Take a photo, capture your pages, then choose Finish & review on Mac. Keep the Mac’s scan window open. Links expire after 10 minutes.

If the page is blank or cannot connect, allow Local Network access for MagiCal in Mac System Settings. Guest networks and VPNs can block device-to-device connections. Try the Mac’s Wi-Fi address if several addresses appear. You can always import a photo or PDF instead. Transfers use HTTP on your local network; use trusted Wi-Fi.

Choose or add a calendar

Allow Full Calendar Access to list writable calendars and check duplicates. Use Don’t see your calendar? to refresh the list, create an empty calendar in a supported account, or open account-setup guidance. Add Google, Outlook, or another account through Apple’s Calendar or system settings, then return and refresh. Read-only calendars cannot receive events. Creating a calendar does not add scanned events.

Check dates before saving

Review the full date, including the year. When a year is missing, MagiCal suggests the next occurrence, including today. Explicit years take priority. Open an event to correct any detail, select your events, then use Review & Add for one final confirmation. No events are saved during scanning. After adding events, return Home to start another scan.

Camera, microphone, or speech access

On iPhone, check Settings → Apps → MagiCal. On Mac, check System Settings → Privacy & Security. Speech needs supported on-device English recognition. If it is unavailable, type or paste instead. Cloud-only files may need downloading before offline use.

Delete a draft

On iPhone, choose Discard scan & start over below Continue your unfinished scan on Home, then confirm Discard Scan. You can also use Settings → Delete Current Draft. On Mac, open Help & Privacy → Delete Current Draft. This removes draft images, transcripts, and suggestions. Events already added to Calendar remain; edit or delete those in Calendar. Original source files are not deleted.

App Store purchases

Apple handles purchases and billing for the native apps. Use the same Apple Account to download your purchased app on supported devices. For billing or refund help, visit Apple’s purchase support. Website purchases are separate from App Store purchases.
